Listeria is Hard to Eradicate in the Central Ohio Area

On Friday June 12, 2015, we noticed that the local Jeni’s shop was closed again, and we checked Jeni’s website to see what was happening. According to a blog post dated June 12, 2015 by Jeni’s CEO John Lowe,  Listeria has again been found in their production facility.  Jenni’s has stopped making ice cream and closed the shops. Tap Water Nitrate Advisory for Central and Columbus, Ohio Areas

The Columbus Division of Water has issued a nitrate advisory to certain populations receiving water from the Dublin Road Water Plant. The affected area encompasses parts of West, Central, and Southwest Columbus as well as Grandview Heights, Grove City, Hilliard, Lincoln Village, Marble Cliff, Upper Arlington, Urbancrest, and Valleyview. Does Ohio Law Require Patient Notification of Dense Breast Tissue on Mammograms?

On June 1, 2015, Michigan joined more than twenty other states that have laws requiring patients be notified if they are found to have dense breast tissue on a mammogram. Dense breast tissue makes it more difficult to find breast cancer. Patients who have dense breast tissue may benefit from additional tests for the detection of breast cancer.
