Study Confirms Again Testosterone Replacement Does Not Increase Heart Attack and Stroke
According to a recent study men who received testosterone supplementation to achieve normal or high levels of testosterone had lower cardiac events as well as a reduction in risk of death and heart attacks. These findings were reported at the 2014 American Heart Association in Chicago. The study was performed at the Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute in Murray, Utah and presented at the 2014 scientific sessions of the American Heart Association. Previous studies have had conflicting results, but some other of the newer studies suggest testosterone replacement does not increase cardiovascular events. Future studies will hopefully clarify the relationship between testosterone replacement, heart attack, and stroke. Testosterone replacement is frequently prescribed, and understanding the relationship with cardiovascular disease is important.
