Was Ohio Ever Part of the Recent Niagara Water Recall?
There are news websites that listed Ohio on the list of states affected by the recent Niagara Water recall. However, Niagara’s website does not list Ohio. The Columbus Medical News team is reporting what we found out in regard to this matter.
According to the Niagara Bottling Company”s Website, “…there was evidence of E. Coli bacteria at the spring source.” However, Niagara’s Website goes on to explain, “Niagara Bottling performs extensive testing on both incoming spring water as well as finished products. We have confirmed there have been no issues or E. coli contamination of any kind detected in our finished products or in the spring water that was delivered to our bottling facility.” Their Website further explains that Niagara then shut down their operation, disinfected their bottling lines, and then started a voluntary recall to be very cautious.
The Columbus Medical Team Called Niagara two separate times, and we were told both times by the Niagara Customer Service line that Ohio was not affected by the recall. Since 7-11 water was on the list, we also called a 7-11 in Sandusky, Ohio, and a manager explained, “We were not affected by contaminated Niagara products.” Anyone in Ohio who has bottled water on the list of affected brands or from the stores listed on the Niagara Website should contact Niagara directly to specifically determine if that water is part of the recall.
